FAQ

🔋 1. Photovoltaic Systems (PV)

What is the ideal output of a photovoltaic system for my home?
It depends on your annual electricity consumption, number of household members, and other factors (e.g. electric heating, EV charging). Typically, an output between 6–10 kWp is suitable. We'll design a system tailored to your needs.

How long does the FVE installation take?
The installation itself takes 1–3 days. The entire process — from signing the contract to final commissioning and subsidy approval — takes approximately 6–10 weeks, depending on distributor and subsidy program workload.

Can I use the FVE during a power outage?
Yes, if your system includes a hybrid inverter and battery storage. In that case, the system can run in "island mode" and power your home from stored energy.

What if my roof is not ideally oriented?
With optimizers and smart system design, east/west-facing or flat roofs can also be effectively used. Efficiency loss is often minimal and outweighed by the benefits.

💰 Subsidies & Financing

What can I get a subsidy for under the "New Green Savings" program?
You can receive funding for FVE installation (including batteries), wallboxes, smart energy management, insulation, window replacements, heat pumps, and other energy-saving measures.

How is the subsidy processed?
We handle the entire administration for you — including the application and communication with authorities. You only need to approve and execute the project.

Can I claim a subsidy for a second property?
Yes. If you own up to two residential properties, you can apply for a subsidy for each one separately.

When will the subsidy be paid out?

Starting February 2025, advance subsidies are available — meaning part of the subsidy can be paid before the project begins. The remaining amount is paid after completion and documentation. This makes financing much easier.

⚡ 3. Batteries & Energy Storage

Why is battery storage important?
Batteries store excess solar energy for use when the FVE isn't producing — such as evenings or at night — increasing energy independence and efficiency.
They also allow for a backup circuit, keeping key devices (e.g. security system, router, fridge) running during outages.

What battery capacity do I need?
A general rule is 1 kWh of battery capacity per 1 kWp of FVE, which aligns with subsidy requirements. The ideal capacity depends on:

  • Devices you wish to back up

  • Battery scalability options

  • Frequency of outages in your area

  • Your overall energy consumption
We'll help you choose the right capacity based on your needs and subsidy eligibility.

🚘 4. Wallboxes & E-Mobility

Can I receive a subsidy for a wallbox?
Yes. If you're installing a photovoltaic system, you can also receive a subsidy for a home EV wallbox as part of the New Green Savings program, helping to reduce overall project costs.

Can I charge my EV using only solar energy?
Yes — and efficiently!
With a LOXONE system, EV charging can be triggered automatically when your solar panels produce surplus energy, maximizing solar usage.
You can also set:

  • Charging time limits (e.g. fully charge by 7 a.m.)

  • Charging during off-peak or low electricity price periods, if using dynamic tariffs

This gives you a smart, cost-effective, and fully automated solution.

🧠 5. Smart Home (LOXONE)

What can I automate with LOXONE?
LOXONE enables smart control of both residential and commercial properties. You can manage:

  • Solar energy production and consumption

  • EV charging

  • Heating, cooling, and ventilation

  • Shading (blinds, shutters)

  • Lighting

  • Security and surveillance systems

  • Audio systems and intercoms

  • Backup power circuits

Can LOXONE integrate with my FVE?
Absolutely. LOXONE reads data from your PV system and adjusts power usage in real time to:

  • Activate loads during solar surplus (e.g. water heating)

  • Control EV charging

  • Optimize operation based on current household consumption

Do I need special appliances for LOXONE?
No. LOXONE works with most standard appliances and installations. If you're building or renovating, we recommend planning with LOXONE from the start for easier integration and maximum efficiency.

Is LOXONE eligible for a subsidy?
Yes — indirectly. Smart energy management is a condition for a 40 000 CZK bonus subsidy. Installing LOXONE meets this requirement and provides a solid foundation for a fully integrated smart home.

Can I install LOXONE in an existing home?
Yes. LOXONE can be added to existing homes without major construction. Its wireless technology allows gradual and flexible implementation based on your needs.
